Only a TINY minority of the women and girls he has inflicted himself upon have sought to press charges.

 

Holding an abuser accountable within the United States judicial system is as traumatizing as the abuse itself, and it is exhausting.

 

The documents you see here are highly unlikely to be a complete collection of everything anyone has filed.

 

We do not know how many of you there are, but there is safety in numbers.

THIS PAGE IS MANAGED AND MAINTAINED BY A GROUP OF PEOPLE WHO SHARE A COMMON FRUSTRATION AT THE DANGER AND RETRAUMATIZATION FACED BY WOMEN WHO TRY TO HOLD THEIR ABUSERS LEGALLY ACCOUNTABLE.

MUCH OF THE LEGAL ACTION TAKEN AGAINST CASEY JOHNSTON IS HIDDEN IN CIVIL DATABASES, SPECIFIC TO THE COUNTIES IN WHICH THE REPORTS WERE FILED.

THIS IS JUST ONE OF THE MANY WAYS IN WHICH THE U.S. JUDICIAL SYSTEM MAINTAINS A CULTURE THAT ALLOWS VIOLENT AND PREDATORY MEN TO FLY UNDER THE RADAR.

 

THEY CAN SIMPLY SAY
"IF IT WAS TRUE, I WOULD BE IN JAIL..."
OR "RUN MY NAME, YOU WON'T FIND ANYTHING..."

MOST ABUSIVE MEN WILL SAY THEIR SURVIVORS ARE 'CRAZY,' OR 'OUT TO RUIN' THEIR LIVES.

 

BUT ASK YOURSELF THIS.

WHAT ARE THE CHANCES THAT SO MANY WOMEN AND GIRLS WOULD ALL SAY THE SAME THINGS ABOUT THE SAME
PERSON, WITH COMMON PATTERNS OF BEHAVIOR PRESENT IN ALL OF THEM?

OUT OF ALL THE WOMEN WHO HAVE FILED REPORTS AGAINST HIM, NOT A SINGLE ONE HAS FILED A REPORT AGAINST ANYONE ELSE.

THESE ARE NOT WOMEN WHO ARE 'OUT TO GET HIM, BECAUSE IF THEY WERE, THIS  WOULD SHOW IN THE PATTERNS OF THEIR OWN BEHAVIOR.

ALL OF THEM WERE ASKED IF THEY WOULD LIKE TO JOIN US, BUT ULTIMATELY FELT THE EMOTIONAL BURDEN WOULD BE TOO HEAVY TO CARRY.

WE HOLD SPACE FOR THEIR BRAVERY.

WE DO THIS FOR THEM, AND FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT FELT SAFE ENOUGH TO SPEAK YET.
